The slopes of Peñafiel
Pago de Carraovejas lies in the valley beside Peñafiel. Its varied slopes and clay-limestone soils support Tinto Fino, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in this distinctive corner of Ribera del Duero.
The Castilla y León setting
Ribera del Duero follows the Duero across the high plateau of Castilla y León. Vineyards rise from around 720 metres to over 1,000 metres, where dry summers, long cold winters and marked temperature changes create a demanding setting for growing grapes.
Wine has been part of this landscape for more than 2,500 years. Today, the river connects vineyard villages across Burgos, Valladolid, Soria and Segovia — a region to discover through its wines, its food and the patient work behind each bottle.
